The European Para-Academy, responsible for the EN/LTF certification of the paragliding gears we use, performed a complete evaluation of 78 models of harnesses that are currently in the market. The EAPR summarized all paraglider harnesses tested by them until July 2012 and evaluated them according to a point system that took into account “only objective and quantifiable design features”. The evaluation did not only consider pure security parameters and compatibility, but also criteria that relate to the overall coherence of the harness and measurable characteristics of safety, handling and use. Although many design features were considered that are not mandated by the LTF, they are highly sensible or offered by manufacturers on their own account. All the evaluated harnesses comply with the LTF standard.
